The Minneapolis Police Department and the University of Minnesota Police Department responded to reports of robbery, theft and assault in the past week.
A University student reported an assault to an MPD officer on Nov. 13 at 4:06 p.m. The victim was outside Noodles & Company on Washington Avenue Southeast when he was hit in the face by the suspect. The suspect was allegedly upset with the victim for being in his way.
A man reported being robbed at gunpoint to MPD officers Sunday at 8:25 p.m. The incident occurred on 8th Street Southeast. According to the report, the victim was walking home when the suspect approached him and pointed a gun at him. The suspect demanded the victim’s money and fled on-foot after receiving it. The victim was unable to give a description of the suspect.
A University student reported to MPD that her purse containing her passport, student ID and debit and credit cards was stolen from her apartment living room. The burglary took place on Wednesday at around 5 p.m. at WaHu Apartments on Washington Avenue Southeast.
UMPD officers responded to a report of a fight on Wednesday at 500 Harvard St. SE. The incident occurred at 10:14 a.m. The arrestee, who was reportedly drunk and belligerent, received a citation.
MPD officers responded to a robbery-in-progress at a business in Marcy-Holmes on Sunday at 630 8th St SE. The store, 8th Street Market, was reportedly robbed at gunpoint between 9 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. The suspect was gone upon officers’ arrival.
A female reported having her phone stolen to the MPD on Thursday at 7:38 p.m. at Bar Luchador on Washington Avenue Southeast. The victim reported being on the phone when a suspect took the phone from her hands and ran away. The suspect then left in a black SUV.
