It was a good day for Minnesota’s women’s tennis team in day one of qualifying Thursday at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships at Baseline Tennis Center.
In singles, Ida Malmberg beat Michigan’s Lindsey Goldstein 6-3, 6-1, after a first-round bye, and Jane Anderson downed Michigan State’s Sarah Andrews 6-2, 6-0, after a first-round byeof her own.
Maria Bugaenco won a pair of matches, defeating both Drake’s Rebekah Thomas 6-2, 6-1, and Northwestern’s Kristi Roemer 2-6, 7-5, 6-4.
Danielle Mousseau had a rough day, though, losing to both Ohio State’s Silvia Prajescu and Cleveland State’s Sarah Galon.
