Mortenson Construction, the local company that built stadiums for the Twins, Timberwolves, Wild and Gophers, is one of two finalists to oversee the construction of the new Vikings stadium, the Star Tribune reports.
Hunt Construction joins Mortenson as a finalist. The Arizona based company teamed with Minneapolis construction firm Kraus-Anderson for their bid, according to the Star Tribune.
CBS Minnesota reported that the decision on which company will build the stadium has been delayed.
The delay comes as pulltab revenue, which was expected to help pay the state's share of the stadium bill, has been lower than expected, according to the Associated Press via the St. Cloud Times.
With the stadium set to be completed by the 2016 season, the Vikings are looking hoping to host the Super Bowl in 2018, the Pioneer Press reports.
