The Gophers' football team is in for a treat when they head to Orlando, Fla., for its New Year's Day bowl game against Missouri.
Aside from the increase in temperature, the Gophers will come home bearing gifts from the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.
Gophers players will receive a Best Buy gift card worth $447, which they will spend on a team shopping trip in Orlando, in addition to a watch and athletic performance t-shirt, the Sports Business Journal reported.
The NCAA sets a cap on bowl spending at $550 per player and only 125 participants from each team can accept gifts, the Sports Business Journal said.
The Sports Business Journal also reported that each school and its conference both have the option to award the participant $400 in gifts too.
Highlights among the other bowl game gifts received by Big Ten teams include Rutgers players receiving custom-made Fathead posters from the Quick Lane Bowl, and Wisconsin players receive gift cards to Outback Steakhouse and Best Buy in addition to a few other gifts.
