Ryu Itadani is the kind of artist whose work needs no explanations. Close ups of product labels seem to entrance him with a focus unrivaled only by his enchantment with strings of flowers and complicated city scapes. His projects feature simple things and have simple aspirations, his current one humbly called "Things I Like." But with his handle on color harmony and slanted, minimalistic approach to detail, his subjects take on new facets.
