Regent Laura Brod after being named to the board on Feb. 21.
Recently appointed to the Board of Regents, Laura Brod joined the Minneapolis law firm Lockridge Grindal Nauen, according to a report from Politics in Minnesota.
Brod will serve as a “senior strategic advisor” for the firm, and will focus on business development and government affairs. Brod will not actively serve as a lobbyist, Ted Grindal – one of the firm’s partners – said in a statement
She’s just the latest member of the board to double-down on responsibilities.
Regent Venora Hung is also a global strategy analyst for Cargill Inc. Regent Richard Beeson also serves as the president and CEO of Park Midway Bank in St. Paul.
Regent David Larson retired as executive vice president of Cargill before serving as a regent.
Before being named to the board on Feb. 21, Brod served four terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2003 until 2010.
