It was not until Tuesday evening that I developed a profound respect for Gov. Jesse Ventura. He arrived at Williams Arena just as more than 20,000 other mourners did that night to pay his final respects to our fallen senator and the seven other victims of the tragedy. However, what was intended to be a memorial of the lives lost was soon perverted into a DFL campaign circus. As any person of good morals should know – this certainly was not the place for such an outrageous display.
Sen. Paul Wellstone’s son and attendees that booed and chanted should be ashamed of themselves.
I applaud Ventura for leaving in the middle of this display of inappropriate behavior, which I believe was the most respectful thing anyone could have done for the victims.
