After a sudden and disappointing end to their season, there is some good news for the Gophers men’s hockey team.
On Tuesday, senior captain Tyler Nanne signed a contract with the Hershey Bears, the AHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, his agent Neil Sheehy announced on Twitter.
In his shortened senior season, Nanne tallied up 14 points in 35 games and blocked 68 shots.
“It was a crazy ending to say the least,” Nanne said in a statement. “It was a relief to sign my first pro deal. Especially with an organization that believes in me moving forward. My family and I are so blessed and fortunate to have had many amazing opportunities within the game of hockey and I look forward to making more along the way.”
The day of the announcement was also Nanne’s 24th birthday.
