On Oct. 2, Luke Larson asked, “Why is it that American Indians are against building a telescope on sacred land but OK with building casinos on sacred land?”
Well let’s see. Perhaps it is because it is their land and they should have input on what goes on their land (realistically all of this land is theirs but that is a different topic). It could also be that the native people of this land have learned that if they give an inch, they will lose a mile. The bottom line is that we should respect their decisions regarding sites sacred to them in the same way that we protect sites that are part of our heritage.
