I would like to respond to the Nov. 21 editorial “Extend library hours during finals week.” The editorial articulated the importance to students of having extended library hours during finals week and called on the University administration to accommodate this need.
In fact, during finals week, Wilson Library is open 24 hours each day and has been for many years. The 24-hour study space is available in the basement level of the building. Wilson Library’s extended hours begin Dec. 15 at noon and continue until 6 p.m. Dec. 21.
Magrath Library on the St. Paul campus also has an extended study room that is open during finals week, Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to midnight and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The libraries hope to be able to maintain those extended hours of service well into the future for library users.
