Two people were shot early Wednesday morning near the University of Minnesota, according to a campuswide Neighborhood Safety Notice issued Wednesday afternoon.
The two victims suffered non-life threatening injuries. They are not affiliated with the University, according to the school’s safety alert.
The Minneapolis Police Department and University of Minnesota Police Department responded around 2:20 a.m. to reports of a shooting close to the intersection of 14th Avenue Southeast and 6th Street Southeast, about a block from campus, according to the University’s notice.
MPD spokesman John Elder said that they are conducting an investigation that is “still in its infancy.”
