Police report that a family of five was found dead today in an apparent murder- suicide, according to the Star Tribune.
The home belonged to local entrepreneur Brian Short and his wife Karen Short, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal
The family, which included three children, were found by police when they went to check on the family earlier in the day after reports that they hadn’t been heard from for multiple days, reports the Star Tribune.
“There’s no words to describe it, and I’ve been a cop for 32 years,” South Lake Minnetonka Police Chief Mike Siitari said to FOX 9. “This is a tough one to handle.”
Police officials said the welfare check was spurred by concerns voiced by a coworker of the husband’s and school officials when the children hadn’t been seen the last few days, reports KARE 11.
Siitari told the Star Tribune that the crime scene is complicated and it could take multiple days before the police have any definitive answers.
