The Gophers women's hockey team earned two more WCHA weekly awards Wednesday after the team's road sweep of Ohio State.
The conference named senior defender and captain Megan Bozek its Defensive Player of the Week for tallying two goals and an assist on the weekend. Bozek also became Minnesota's school record holder for career goals by a defender with 42, breaking former player Winny Brodt’s record by one. This is Bozek's fourth career honor and second this season.
Freshman forward Maryanne Menefee nabbed the Rookie of the Week title for her goal and two assists against the Buckeyes. This is Menefee's second award of her career and season.
Minnesota will take on Bemidji State at Ridder Arena on Friday and Saturday.
