The Minnesota menâÄôs golf team looked to be in good shape after 36 holes at the Gridiron Classic hosted by the University of Notre Dame. When action had come to a close Monday, the Gophers had a one stroke lead and were on the verge of their first team championship this season. But Tuesday, things did not go MinnesotaâÄôs way. The Gophers shot a team 54-hole 874 to end the tournament and dropped to fourth place to end the tournament. MinnesotaâÄôs top finisher was junior Ben Pisani who finished with an 8-over par, his best 54-hole score this year, good enough for twelfth place overall. Following Pisani was senior Victor Almstrom who was on fire to start Tuesday shooting a 2-under after 12 holes. But holes 14-16 didnâÄôt treat Almstrom well and he finished the day with a 1-over, 71. He finished the tournament tied for 17th with a 10-over, 220.
