The Gophers trail Iowa 17-0 at halftime at TCF Bank Stadium, and the Hawkeyes are dominating the line of scrimmage.
The Hawkeyes have 88 rushing yards, including 59 by junior Mark Weisman. Their first touchdown came on a four-yard run by quarterback Jake Rudock early in the second quarter. Their second was a 74-yard screen pass from Rudock to receiver Damond Powell late in the quarter.
Iowa's defense has limited the Gophers to less than one yard per carry and has sacked sophomore quarterback Philip Nelson twice. Nelson is making his first start since injuring a hamstring against Western Illinois and is 6-10 passing for 67 yards. He also threw an interception.
