Tubby SmithâÄôs nephew was killed in a Massachusetts apartment early Sunday morning. William L. Smith, 19, was stabbed in the chest around 2 a.m. Sunday after a fight broke out in an off-campus apartment. William L. Smith had just transferred to Becker College in Worcester, Mass., where he intended to play basketball and football, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. Both William and Tubby attended Great Mills High School in Maryland, where Tubby also started his coaching career. âÄúI want to thank everyone for keeping my family in their thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time,âÄù Tubby Smith said in a release issued by the University. âÄúWe lost a special young man last night.
