The University of Minnesota broke the official Guinness World Record for number of flu shots before noon. 12:00 p.m.: The University had recorded 4,371 shots, which has beaten the previous record of 3,721 set in 2006. 2 p.m.: Dave Golden, public health and marketing director at Boynton Health Service, said 6,680 flu shots have been given out. 4 p.m.: 10,056 Unofficial final count: 11,538 The final count is unofficial because officials will recount and get an exact count to send into Guinness soon. Over 11,000 beat what organizers predicted — they thought they were going to get in between 6,000 and 10,000.
