Minnesota’s volleyball team won the Marquette Spring Challenge on Saturday with a sweep of three opponents in Milwaukee.
The Gophers beat North Dakota State 3-0, Northern Michigan 3-1 and host Marquette 3-2 to claim the title.
The Gophers play their final spring match at 6 p.m. Saturday against Northwestern at the Sports Pavilion.
Soccer beats alumnae 3-0
Minnesota’s soccer team scored two first-half goals and added a third in the second half to beat the alumnae team 3-0 Saturday in its Alumni Game at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium.
Becky Dellaria scored first after stealing a pass from alumnae goalkeeper Julie Eibensteiner in the 14th minute. Dellaria then assisted Megan Fightmaster in the 25th minute, and Tierney Palmer-Klein scored the third goal.
The team plays host to the Gopher Spring Classic this weekend at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium, playing Creighton at 6 p.m. Saturday and Iowa State and Iowa on Sunday at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
