University President Bob Bruininks announced Monday Dr. Stephen Lehmkuhle’s appointment as the University of Minnesota-Rochester’s first chancellor, according to a University news release.
Pending approval by the Board of Regents at its Sept. 7 meeting, Lehmkuhle will transition from his current position as the senior vice president for academic affairs in the University of Missouri system into his new role.
In the top spot on the campus, Lehmkuhle will be responsible for leading the developing campus’s administration.
“The University and the community have come up with a solid vision for what they want the University of Minnesota-Rochester to become in coming years,” he said in the release. “This is an outstanding opportunity and an exciting time to be at UMR.”
