In his final academic semester at the University, Gophers wrestler Jayson Ness earned a place on the Big Ten Winter Academic All-Conference team.

Ness is 1 of 61 wrestlers to receive the academic honor, an honor which requires sophomore status or above and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The wrestler graduated from the University at the conclusion of fall semester of 2009 with a degree in technology education. Ness is continuing his studies at the University, where he is working on a Masters of Education degree.
