The Gophers men’s gymnastics team finished third out of seven teams Friday night at the Big Ten championships. Michigan won the title with a score of 438.9 and Penn State finished second. Minnesota hosted the event at the Sports Pavilion.
The Gophers used a season-high score on rings to score 430.35. Minnesota led the meet after four rotations, but was fifth heading into the final rotation.
Steve Jaciuk had the meet’s high score on high bar, a 15.15. He is ranked third in the nation on the event, and will have a chance to win the individual title tomorrow night in the event finals competition. Jaciuk also scored a season-high 15.15 on the still rings.
A total of six Minnesota gymnasts qualified for the event finals tomorrow night.
