At long last, the Gophers volleyball team has its 2020-21 regular season schedule, after the season was postponed amid the pandemic.
Minnesota will open its season on Jan. 23 against Michigan State. The schedule is a 22-game slate against all Big Ten opponents and consists of two-game series against each of the 11 teams they play. The Gophers will play a home and away series against Wisconsin on March 17 and 21.
Minnesota is coming off a 27-6 campaign in which it reached the Final Four after an incredible five-set comeback win against Creighton, another five-set battle a week later against Florida and a sweep over Louisville. The Gophers fell to eventual national champion Stanford in the Final Four.
The Gophers will once again look to be among the best in the country after returning key starters, including Regan Pittman, Stephanie Samedy, Adanna Rollins and CC McGraw. Minnesota also brings in the top-ranked recruiting class that features No. 1 overall recruit Taylor Landfair, Jenna Wenaas, Melani Shaffmaster and Cami Appiani, along with transfers Hunter Atherton and Katie Myers.
