The Minnesota volleyball team announced it will not play its Thursday night match against the Wisconsin Badgers. The University said it will not play this match due to COVID-19 restrictions and injuries within the program.
This is the fifth match that has been postponed for the Gophers this season. Besides being another match in the border battle between the two programs, it was also slated to play a significant part in the Big Ten conference and national volleyball picture. At 10-0, Wisconsin is the top-ranked team in the country and is the only undefeated team in the Big Ten, but Minnesota is closely behind at 11-1 and fourth in the AVCA coaches poll.
Minnesota’s match hosting Wisconsin on March 21 is currently still scheduled to be played.
