Four candidates were selected by the Board of Regents for the University’s interim president position, including Jeffrey M. Ettinger, Myron Frans, Mary Holz-Clause and E. Thomas Sullivan.
College of Liberal Arts Dean John Coleman will leave the University of Minnesota to serve as vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Ken Powell, who has been on the board since 2017, will finish his term as a regent. The board has called a special meeting on Thursday to figure out next steps in the future of University leadership.
Amundson Hall on the East Bank campus was evacuated early Tuesday evening. Public Safety gave the all clear for campus to resume normally about an hour after the initial alert.
