Minnesota returned to form on the road with a pair of 3-0 wins over Notre Dame, goalie Jack LaFontaine tallied his fifth shutout of the season.

The Gophers are 2-4 on the season against the Buckeyes.

Minnesota lost its first game of the rematch 4-1, and was unable to respond in game two, where Wisconsin beat the Gophers 8-1.

Both matches in the two-game series went to overtime.

Minnesota’s high-scoring ways continued in Columbus, and the Buckeyes were their seventh swept opponent this season.

After being swept in their last two-game series versus No. 1 Wisconsin, the Gophers split their two game series versus No. 3 Ohio State.

Freshmen Anne Cherkowski and Abbey Murphy are both on fire this season, playing on the Gophers’ top two lines.

With a 10-0 shutout Thursday night followed by a 10-2 win Friday afternoon, Minnesota got back to business after fumbling two games against Notre Dame.

After a string of wins to open the season, Minnesota struggled against Notre Dame’s physical play, losing 2-3 Friday and 1-2 Saturday.

Amy Potomak returned from an injury that held her out for the first half of the season.
