Cynthia Weitzel sits in her artist studio at the Anderson Center in Red Wing, Minn., where she has had a permanent residency since 2011. In 2014, Weitzel founded and helped coordinate a monthlong residency program for deaf artists, the first of it's kind in the country. A deaf artist herself, Weitzel describes the residency as a beautiful and unique opportunity. This past June, she was able to successfully host the second Deaf Artists Residency Program at the Anderson Center.
