The agreement comes nearly three years after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd.

The re-envisioned project by Minneapolis Public Works for George Floyd Square gives community members an opportunity to voice their opinions on what is best for the 38th and Chicago intersection.

Kueng will serve 3 ½ years in federal prison alongside his federal sentence.

The federal sentence will be served concurrently with a 22 ½-year sentence after Chauvin was found guilty in a state case of second- and third-degree murder, along with second-degree manslaughter.

The report found inconsistencies and miscommunication within MPD and the city in the days following George Floyd’s murder and gave recommendations on improvement.

The three officers were found guilty on all counts for depriving George Floyd of his constitutional rights.
