Waltner is a professor in the history department and will take over as dean for the College of Liberal Arts on July 3.

College of Liberal Arts Dean John Coleman will leave the University of Minnesota to serve as vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
