Frank Cerra will retire from his position as dean of the University of Minnesota Medical School and senior vice president for health sciences of the Academic Health Center at the end of the fall 2010 semester. University President Robert Bruininks announced CerraâÄôs Dec. 31 retirement in a statement. âÄúI know that you all join me in recognizing Dr. CerraâÄôs unparalleled leadership and outstanding and long lasting contributions to the University of Minnesota, the Academic Health Center, and to health education, research, outreach, and clinical care,âÄù the statement said. âÄúWhile I wish him all the best in his next pursuits, his stepping down from his current role will have a tremendous impact on many aspects of the University and its wider community.âÄù Cerra will continue to serve in his current roles throughout the year.
Cerra to retire at end of year
Cerra, senior VP of health sciences, was named dean of the Medical School in 2008.
