A âÄúserial peeperâÄù was nabbed outside an apartment building near campus Tuesday night. A witness called police after he saw 34-year-old Calvin James Jennings standing outside an apartment building at 1010 Essex St. Jennings has been arrested at least 16 times in Minneapolis over the past 15 years, including once at the same location in 1999, Minneapolis police Lt. Greg Reinhardt said. Some of his previous arrests occurred near campus, others in north and south Minneapolis. The most recent was in 2007. âÄúItâÄôs very disturbing to have peeping,âÄù Reinhardt said. âÄúThe windows are right there on the street, so itâÄôs pretty easy for him to do.âÄù Jennings was charged with attempted burglary and interference with privacy, both felonies. If convicted, he could spend more than a year in jail. University police Deputy Chief Chuck Miner said on-campus peeping is relatively uncommon. âÄúWe sort of have more groping or exposing incidents than peeping,âÄù he said. âÄúWeâÄôve had some cases of people peeping into residence hall rooms, but itâÄôs much less frequent than one would probably think.âÄù
