Twice a year the fashion luminaries of the world descend upon New York City in an effort to bring together the finest fashion for the upcoming seasons. This year, the industry elite gathered together at The Lincoln Center and watched, critiqued and walked the runway that showcased trends for fall 2013.
The square was filled with fashionistas, bloggers and models, all of whom were delighted to scope out the competing designs and see the cameras snapping. The outfits in the crowds were a competition amongst themselves.
Major trends in the square were face-framing sunglasses, oversize jackets in vibrant hues, sky-high heels and layers upon layers to shield from the acute city blizzard. Many outfits fit the bill for a fine fare of ensemble refinement, though three struck my sartorial senses stronger than the rest.

Bright, all right and fruity fun are all evident in this style maven’s apparel. This fashionista darling worked her way into a winter-turned-spring ensemble that spoke volumes against the fresh snowfall. Working two rich hues is a definite feat difficult to attempt and pull off without looking like your fourth-grade Junie B. Jones self, but she defeated that challenge.
When pairing two brilliant shades against one another, especially when in the dead of winter, it can be difficult to fit the seasonal appropriateness. Do as the fashion week style icons do, and pair your colorful darings with thick black tights and a dark beanie — winterize it.

She is a black and white beauty in the strongest of sense with this outfit. This petite princess paired an oversize white tunic with a pair of black liquid leggings, and paired the basic outfit with a shyly patterned black and white cropped jacket. As a fairly simple and uncomplicated outfit for its core, it is the accessories she chose that made the outfit a favorite of mine and many other fashion bloggers. The fitted fur cap isn’t anything but divine, and the outfit’s punch of liveliness vis-Ã -vis a textured raspberry red clutch commands attention and praise.

Bright, blue and a highly saturated upper body photographed flawlessly on this New York Fashion Week attendee. The brilliant colors of her blue-based ensemble stood out among the bundled bunch of fashion week attendees, as her look was the focus of many Nikons and Canons at the Saturday afternoon viewings.
Her pants were an incredibly bold galactic, somewhat cosmic print mixed of blues, golds and blacks, difficult for some to pull off, though she knocked it out of the park. Why it worked is twofold: She chose a similarly hued, solid blue color for her upper half, tying in the colors in the trousers, and she did the same for her footwear. The key to wearing such a statement pant is to pair it with a solid incorporated color throughout the rest of the ensemble. This dignifies the pant as the focal point and doesn’t compete with items, creating a balanced silhouette.
