Senate has just confirmed that John Brennan is the new CIA chief.
Brennan’s new position comes after an almost 13-hour filibuster by Kentucky Senator Rand Paul (R).
Senator Paul started the filibuster to ask the Obama administration about their policy concerning drones. He demanded to get a statement from the administration stating that the president does not have the power to kill an American not engaged in combat on American soil.
The administration sent Senator Paul a letter stating that “the U.S. government has not carried put drone strikes in the United States and has no intention of doing so.”
Paul stated that the statement satisfied his concern.
