Property damage and theft rates have increased in most University-area neighborhoods while car thefts have decreased in a year.

The University police department's new, year-long pilot program was implemented in late March as MPD struggles to recruit new officers.

The Department of Public Safety will give its update at the March 8 Board of Regents meeting.
