The University of Minnesota Police Department reported shots were fired on the corner of 4th Street Southeast and 12th Avenue Southeast on Monday afternoon, according to a Dinkytown Alert released to the public at 3:57 p.m.

According to the alert, two male suspects fled the scene of the shooting, and UMPD officers are now handling the investigation. The alert advises members of the public to avoid the area.

From what is currently known, no one was hurt in the shooting, said responding officers. University officials say there is no additional information to offer at this time.
