The University debuted a new express route Monday, designed with busy schedules in mind.
The bus hits six popular stops on campus, including the St. Paul Student Center, Washington Ave. at Northrop Mall on East Bank and Willey Hall on West Bank. Unlike its longstanding predecessor, the 121 Campus Connector that makes 15 different stops.
When the 126 Campus Express and 121 Campus Connector run at the same time, departure times will be delayed by two minutes. The route, however, will stay the same, the University’s Parking and Transportation Services said.
PTS said this will have a major impact for East Bank, St. Paul and West Bank traffic.
The Express Route runs from 7 a.m. until 4:54 p.m., Monday through Friday. PTS spokesperson Nick Mabee boasted of the 126’s interconnectivity with existing Metro Transit routes off campus in a statement issued to the Minnesota Daily.
“Route 126 has several connections to Metro Transit’s Route 3 which consistently generates high ridership amongst University community members using their transit passes and travels between the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul,” the statement said.
You can now hop on Metro Transit’s route 3 from the 126 on stops Cleveland and Como-Southbound, University and Pleasant and Cleveland and Como-Northbound, according to the 126’s new page on the PTS website.
